Key Significance of applying Akshate:
- The Symbol of Strength: In the Madhva tradition, the application of Angara and Akshata on the forehead is a symbolic representation of the Gada (Mace) of Lord Hanumantha and Sri Bheemasena.
- Divine Presence: While Angara represents the presence of Sriman Narayana, the maroon-colored Akshata represents the Sannidhana of Sri Lakshmi Devi, ensuring prosperity and grace.
- Spiritual Protection: According to great stalwarts of the philosophy, wearing this sacred mark protects the devotee from negative energies.
Traditional Preparation:
Following the steps mentioned in classical Sampradaya, our Akshata is made using:
- Burnt Plantain Flower Ash: The covering of the banana flower is dried and burnt to a fine ash.
- Pure Turmeric Root: High-quality turmeric is ground and mixed with the ash to achieve the perfect, auspicious maroon/reddish-black hue.
